File Nº 01 — Australia Cards

The honest number on every Australia credit card.

Every card we hold for Australia — fee, network, and welcome offer, with no marketing copy and no pay-to-rank. Where a figure has never been recorded, we leave it blank rather than guess it.

*figures come from issuers’ own terms and regulators’ published documents. Each card's review page marks which of its figures a document states — and marks the rest Not yet checked, or Not published where we checked, or Issuer restricts access.

Questions

Frequently asked

How many credit cards does PointsExplained track in Australia?

We currently track 222 credit cards in Australia, covering every major bank and issuer. Each card records the issuer's published fee, network, category, and welcome offer where we hold one.

What is the best credit card in Australia?

The best card depends on your spending. For travel, look for accelerated earn on travel and dining. For everyday value, a card with broad earn and no yearly cost is ideal. Use the category chips and filters above to narrow 222 cards to your wallet.

How do I compare credit cards on this page?

Filter by network (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and annual fee, then open any card for the full review. To put two or three cards head to head, use the Compare tool, which lays them out side by side on a single ledger.

Why do some cards show a blank annual fee?

Because we hold no confirmed figure for it. Our fee column used to default to zero, and many cards still carry a zero that no check has confirmed — so a zero on its own cannot be told apart from a field nobody filled in, and printing “A$0” there would invent a price. A card shows a fee where a positive one is on record, or where a zero was confirmed against the issuer's terms; otherwise the slot reads “Not confirmed”, and the issuer's own page is the place to check before you apply.

How do I know which of a card's details have been checked?

Each card's review page marks every figure it prints: “Checked” with the month (and a link to the published document where we hold its address), or “Not yet checked” with the issuer where no check is on record — and a card with any unchecked figure says so at the top. A figure the issuer's pages we checked do not state, or that sits behind a site that blocks automated reading, is left blank and marked “Not published by the issuer where we checked” or “Issuer restricts access — check their site”. The date beside “Annual fee checked” covers the annual fee only. Terms change without notice, so confirm the current fee and offer on the issuer's own page before you apply.
