Affiliate Disclosure
The short version: PointsExplained has no affiliate partnerships and earns nothing from card issuers.
Last updated: September 25, 2026
How PointsExplained makes money
Today, it does not. The site has no affiliate partnerships, no sponsored content and no advertising, and it earns nothing from card issuers or affiliate networks. It is free to use.
Where our links go
An "Apply" link on a card page goes straight to that issuer's own website, using the address in our catalogue. We add no tracking of our own, and the issuer pays us nothing if you apply.
The site has a redirect endpoint built for partner links (/api/go/[id]). No card uses it today.
What this means for rankings
With no partnerships, no ranking, list or recommendation on the site can be influenced by a commission. Rankings are computed by the same rules for every card, as described in our methodology. Issuers do not see pages before they are published and have no say in what they show.
If that changes
If PointsExplained ever joins an affiliate program, any link that can earn a commission will be disclosed before it goes live: on this page, and next to the link on every page that carries it.
Those disclosures will follow the rules that apply where you read them โ the FTC's Endorsement Guides (US), the Competition Act (Canada), the CAP Code (UK), the Australian Consumer Law, CONAR (Brazil), the ASCI Code (India) and Portuguese consumer protection law.
