How we handle corrections.
Accuracy is the whole point. When something is wrong, we want to know — and we fix it transparently, with a timestamp.

Report an error
Found something inaccurate in an article, review, guide, or news summary? Email corrections@pointsexplained.com with the page address and what you believe is wrong.
Report an errorHow a correction works
Every report follows the same path, whether it concerns a card page generated from our catalogue or a news summary drafted with AI assistance under human oversight.
1. You report it
Email us the article URL and what you believe is wrong. A short note on the correct information (and a source, if you have one) helps us verify faster.
2. We verify against the primary source
We check the claim against the original issuer, company, regulator, or newswire release the article was drafted from. Facts are confirmed before any change is made.
3. We correct and timestamp it
If the article is wrong, we fix it. Every correction refreshes the article's last-updated timestamp, and material corrections carry a visible, dated correction note.
How we label corrections
Minor corrections
Typos, formatting, and small factual updates (for example, a fee changing from $120 to $125) are corrected inline. We refresh the article’s last-updated date so you can always see when it last changed.
Material corrections
Errors that could affect a reader’s financial decision (a wrong earn rate, fee, or benefit) receive a visible, dated correction note at the top of the article explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is.
Corrections carry timestamps
Every published article shows a published date and a last-updated date. When we correct an article, the last-updated timestamp changes, and material correction notes are dated — so the record of what changed, and when, is always visible.
