Brazil's Points and Miles Programs: How Transfers and Expiry Work

Have a redemption in mind

Transferred points follow the partner program's rules and expiry, so transfer when you know what you want to book rather than in advance.

Check the transfer conditions

Look up the current conversion factor, minimum, maximum and multiples on the program's site; Livelo says it can change them without prior notice.

Read the bonus campaign's terms

If a transfer bonus applies, read that campaign's regulamento, including when the bonus miles expire.

Use your own account

Make sure the destination account is in your name; Livelo's rules prohibit transfers to third parties' accounts.

Allow time

Livelo's standard transfer time is up to 7 business days unless a different time is announced for the partner, and first transfers can take longer; the immediate option, which costs extra points, credits some partners within 24 hours.

About this guide

Can I transfer Livelo points into someone else's airline account?

No. Livelo's regulamento prohibits transferring points to accounts of third parties; the account at the partner program must be the participant's own.

Do transferred points keep their original expiry?

Not necessarily. Livelo's regulamento says points transferred to a partner program are subject to that program's rules. At Smiles, validity is set by membership category, counted from the date the miles are credited.

What happens if a transfer fails?

Under Livelo's regulamento, if the partner program doesn't process the request, the points are returned automatically within up to 60 days of the rejection, with their original expiry date.

Can I sell my miles?

The programs' rules forbid it. Smiles says miles cannot be sold, bought, donated or otherwise transferred to third parties and cannot be converted into cash, and Livelo prohibits buying, selling, assigning or swapping points and says proof of such trading leads to exclusion from the program and cancellation of the points.
