Questions

Frequently asked

How do I find the best credit card for me in Brazil?

Start with the guide that matches your situation — student, traveler, business owner, building credit, and so on — for a shortlist chosen for that profile. For a ranking built around your exact spending and credit, take the 60-second quiz.

Are these persona guides independent?

Yes. Nothing is pay-to-rank: PointsExplained has no affiliate partnerships and earns nothing from card issuers. Guides built on a quiz profile rank cards on estimated value — earn rates, a welcome offer the page can print, and the annual fee; the rest list a category's cards or a researched shortlist, and each guide says which. We track 379 cards in Brazil.

What if I fit more than one persona?

Most people do. Open each guide that applies and compare the shortlists — a card can be the best pick for more than one profile. The quiz is the fastest way to reconcile competing priorities into a single ranking.

Why does a card sometimes show no annual fee figure?

Because we hold no confirmed figure for it. Our fee column used to default to zero, and many cards still carry a zero that no check has confirmed — so a zero on its own cannot be told apart from a field nobody filled in, and printing “R$0” there would invent a price. A card shows a fee where a positive one is on record, or where a zero was confirmed against the issuer's terms; otherwise the slot reads “Not confirmed”, and the issuer's own page is the place to check before you apply.
