How much are Scene+ points worth?

As of September 25, 2026, 1,000 points took $10 off at participating grocery stores, pharmacies and Home Hardware, and 100 points were worth $1 at the movies and on Scene+ Travel. That's one cent a point in each case.

Do Scene+ points expire?

Points are forfeited if your account is closed due to inactivity: after 24 months for registered cards and 6 months for unregistered cards, according to the Scene+ Help Centre.

Can I earn Scene+ points without a Scotiabank card?

In some ways, yes. Scene+ lists ways to earn that don't mention a Scotiabank card, such as specially marked grocery items, flyer coupons and loaded offers, the movies, Scene+ Travel and Home Hardware. At participating grocery stores, though, scanning your card alone doesn't earn base points per dollar; that requires a qualifying Scotiabank credit card.
